Media Delivery Reports is a tool for gaining a high-level view of the CDN performance and focused views of selected data and entities.
Media Delivery provides three advanced reports:
- Origin - Displays performance metrics for delivery service origins.
- ASN - Displays performance metrics for autonomous system networks (ASNs).
- Delegation Target - Displays performance metrics for delegation targets.
The reports include multiple graphs. Each graph focuses on a particular metric.
Displaying a Report
To display a report:
- Select Reports from the navigation panel.
- Select the Origin, ASN, or Delegation Target tab to display data about origins, ASNs, or delegation targets.
Customizing the Report
You can easily customize the reports to your use case.
Filters
Built-in filters let you focus on the data of interest.
Use them to specify the following:
- Origins/ASNs/delegation targets of interest.
- Delivery services of interest
- Service providers of interest
- The time period of interest.
Groups
You can create custom groups of origins, ASNs, or delegation targets to view metrics that combine the data for all the group members. For example, if a group contains two members, the Bandwidth metric for that group is the sum of the bandwidth consumed by both members.
You can display multiple groups in a report to compare the group metrics.
In Group Comparison
The in-group comparison lets you display group members individually in a report. This feature is available only when a single group is selected.
Focusing on Data of Interest
Use the built-in filters to focus on the data of interest.
To configure the report data:
Select a content publisher (this menu is active when your use case includes multiple content publishers).
Set the date range. The date range determines the granularity of the data displayed in the report. For example, when the date range is 24 hours, the graphs display data per 5-minute increment. When the date range is 7 days, the graphs display data per 60-minute increment.
Optionally, select the origins/ASNs/delegation targets for which you'd like to display data, and click Apply.
By default, data is displayed for the top 10 origins, ASNs, or delegation targets. Top refers to the origins, ASNs, or delegation targets that consumed the most bandwidth in the selected time period.
Any groups you created are also available for selection in the dropdown menu.Optionally, specify delivery services and service providers. By default, data is displayed for all delivery services and service providers.
Creating a Group
You can define and save groups of origins, ASNs, or delegation targets, to enable viewing combined data for all the group members, per metric, and for comparing groups.
For example, if you choose to display two origins, the report graphs display two lines - one for each origin. However, if you create a group out of the same two origins and then choose to display the group, a single line is displayed in the report graphs.
When a single group is selected, you can use the in-group comparison to display each of the group members as a separate line on the graph.
To create a group:
Select the Create Group icon.
In the Group Configuration dialog, select Add Group.
A New Group item appears in the list.Select New Group.
Enter a unique Group Name.
From the Origins, ASNs, or Delegation Targets list, select what you want to include in the group.
Click Save Changes. The group is available for selection in the Origins, ASNs, or Delegations Target dropdown menu.
Exporting Report Data
After you configure a report to display the data of interest, you can export the report data.
To export a report:
On the reports page, select the Export Report icon.
The system exports the data in XLSX format.
