The Delivery Service Dashboard provides a comparative view of key performance metrics such as peak bandwidth and cache efficiency for selected service providers or delivery services in your network.
On this dashboard, you can:
- Compare selected delivery services.
- Compare selected service providers.
- View data about delivery services for a particular service provider.
- View data about a particular delivery service across all service providers.
- View delivery service delegation by country.
Note: Icons and reports may vary, according to the services available in your network.
Display the Dashboard
To display the dashboard, select Delivery Service Dashboard from the navigation panel.
Configuring the Dashboard
To configure the dashboard for your use case:
Select one or more content publishers of interest (this menu is only active if your use case includes multiple content providers).
Choose to focus on Delivery Services, Service Providers, or Server Country.
- Set the date range. The date range determines the granularity of the displayed data. For example, when the date range is 24 hours, the graphs display data per 5-minute increment. When the date range is 7 days, the graphs display data per 60-minute increment.
Executive Summary
The Executive Summary at the top of the dashboard displays the key performance metrics. These are combined values for all the delivery services or service providers.
- Average Bandwidth - The average amount of bandwidth consumed per time increment.
- Peak Bandwidth - The highest amount of bandwidth consumed in a single time increment during the specified period.
- Volume - The total amount of data transferred during the time period.
- Efficiency(%) - The percentage of all volume that was served directly from the cache. For example, a 90% efficiency value means that 90% of the volume was served from the CDN, while 10% was proxied from the origin.
- Average Bitrate - The average bitrate of individual HTTP transactions (not entire download sessions) over the time period.
Graphs
The graphs show the metrics per delivery service or service provider.
Click the Layout icons to show or hide the graphs.
When the graphs are displayed, note that the graph in the middle has three tabs.
- Volume Distribution - Shows the distribution of volume per delivery service or service provider, with entities accounting for less than 5% grouped under the "Other" category.
- Average Bandwidth, Efficiency, and Hit Ratio graphs - Initially, these graphs display the metric per entity and an additional line or bar representing the average metric value.
- Geolocation of Delivery Services - Shows the CDN locations.
In the following example, the dashboard is configured to display delivery services. The Hit Ratio graph displays the metric for each of the two delivery services, and the average hit ratio.
Hover over an entity in the graph to view the value.
The delivery service metric value is a combined value that covers all of the associated service providers.
Performance Table
The table displays key performance values from the perspective of delivery services or service providers.
In this example, the dashboard is set to Service Provider mode, so the table displays a list of service providers, each followed by the list of associated delivery services. The service provider values are combined values that cover all of the related delivery services (when the dashboard is set to Delivery Services mode, the reverse is true.)
The table displays the following columns:
- Name - The name of the entity.
- Peak Bandwidth - The highest amount of bandwidth consumed by the entity during a single time increment.
- Volume - The total amount of data transferred by the entity over the time period.
- Efficiency - The percentage of volume served from cache over the time period.
- Streamed Bitrate - The amount of data transferred over the time period.
- Hit Ratio - The percentage of transactions served directly from cache over the time period.
- Error Codes - The percentage of transactions generating 4xx and 5xx HTTPS response codes.
- Max Subscribers - The maximum count/number of subscribers.
- Region - Regions are based on country code mapping. See the Region/Country Code Mapping section below for additional information.
- Service Types - The delivery service types and/or services.
- Status - Indicates how many of the services are active.
- ISPs - Indicates the ISP of the selected entity.
Sorting Table Data
Click a column heading to sort the data by that parameter.
Creating Focused Views
You can use the table to create focused views of selected data in the graphs.
Adding an Entity to the Graph
In Delivery Services mode, the default view displays each metric for each of the delivery services.
Go to the table and hover over a related service provider to add the service provider to the graph. The related Delivery Service is now emphasized in the graph as well.
Emphasizing an Entity
To emphasize an entity that is already displayed in the graphs, go to the table and hover over the entity:
Displaying a Selected Entity
Focus on a particular content publisher or delivery service by clicking the magnifying glass icon to the left of the table row of the entity you want to focus on.
In Delivery Services mode, selecting a delivery service displays metrics for each of the related service providers.
In Delivery Services mode, select a service provider to display only the selected service provider in the graphs.
In Service Providers mode, the reverse is true. Select a service provider to display data for each of the related delivery services.
Or select a delivery service to display only the selected delivery service in the graphs.
Exporting Table Data
To export the displayed table data to CSV, select the Export this table to CSV icon.
