Article summary

Use the Publish feature to push a Media Delivery site configuration version to the CDN.

The first time you publish a site, you also have to update your domain's DNS settings with the CNAME of the Site Delivery configuration to make your site go live. The CNAME is created automatically when you create a new site. (Alternatively, use HTTP routing.)

Subsequently, to update the processing parameters or any aspect of the Media Delivery site configuration, you create a new site configuration version with updated configuration parameters, and then save and publish it. For a site that is live, publishing a new configuration version automatically replaces the old configuration.

Note: A site is configured for a particular traffic type, to allow for optimization based on the unique characteristics of the traffic type. Currently, these optimizations are implemented by Qwilt. For best results, please contact your account manager or support@qwilt.com to optimize your site for the relevant traffic type.

Publish a Saved Version

To publish a saved Media Delivery site configuration version:

  1. Navigate to the My Media Sites page and select the site.
  2. On the Selected Version button, select the expand icon to display the Versions List.

  3. In the Versions List, select the version you want to publish.
  4. Select Publish.
  5.  The Publish dialog shows the site configuration selected for publishing. If a certificate is linked to the site, that is indicated as well.
    Optionally:
    • Select the Change Selected Version link to open the Configurations Preview. There, you can select a different version to publish.
If the site is already published, a list of the differences between the version to be published and the currently published version is displayed.
    • Link a certificate to the site, or change the selected certificate.
  6. Select PublishThe system does a thorough validation and then publishes the version.
