Rules may be applied at the host or path level.
To add a rule to a host or path:
Navigate to the My Media Sites page and select the site.
On the Media Site Configuration tab, scroll to the Hosts area, and select the host. The configuration information for the host appears in the Host Configuration area.
Scroll down to one of the following areas:
For a host rule: Go to the Host Configuration area.
For a path rule: Go to the Path Rules area, navigate to the relevant path, and expand it.
If needed, first add a path.
Select Add Rule. The Select Rule dialog appears.
Select the rule that you want to configure. You can use the search bar to find a rule.
Follow the instructions in the user interface. They will guide you through the process of adding the rule.
After you define a rule, it appears in one of the lists on the Rules tab.
Rules are categorized as General Rules, or rules that are applied during a specific stage of the overall transaction (On Client Request, On Client Response, On Origin Request).
A - On Client Request: Rules are run on the client request before further processing. (Origin Selection rule.)
B - On Origin Request: Rules are run before making a request to the origin. (Modify Origin Request rule.)
C - Origin Response: Media Delivery does not currently support rules that run after a response is received from the origin.
D - On Client Response: Rules are run before sending the response to the client. (Modify Client Response rule.)
Each rule you add appears in the relevant numbered list on the Rules tab of the Host Configuration or Path Rules area. In the following example, six rules are configured - five General Rules (displayed) and one On Origin Request rule.
