Article summary

Use the Publish feature to push a Media Delivery site configuration version to the CDN.

The first time you publish a site, you also have to update your domain's DNS settings with the CNAME of the Site Delivery configuration to make your site go live. The CNAME is created automatically when you create a new site. (Alternatively, use HTTP routing.)

Subsequently, to update the processing parameters or any aspect of the Media Delivery site configuration, you create a new site configuration version with updated configuration parameters, and then save and publish it. For a site that is live, publishing a new configuration version automatically replaces the old configuration.

Note: A site is configured for a particular traffic type, to allow for optimization based on the unique characteristics of the traffic type. Currently, these optimizations are implemented by Qwilt. For best results, please contact your account manager or support@qwilt.com to optimize your site for the relevant traffic type.

To publish a saved Media Delivery site configuration version:

  1. Navigate to the My Media Sites page and select the site.
  2. Select Publish.
  3. Select Production or Staging. (Learn about the Publish to Staging feature.)   - The Publish Site dialog shows the site configuration version selected for publishing. By default, the newest saved version is selected.
    - If a certificate is associated with the site, it is indicated here as well.
  4.  Optionally, to select a different version to publish:
    1.  Select the Change Selected Version link.

    2. From the pane on the left, select the version you'd like to publish. If the site is already published, a list of the differences between the currently published version and the version selected for publishing version is displayed in the pane on the right
    3. Select Save Changes to return to the Publish Site dialog.
  5.  Optionally, to associate a certificate with the site:
    1. Choose Select Certificate, or if a certificate is already associated with the site, choose Change Selected Certificate to select a new certificate.
    2.  Select from the list of available certificates and then select Save Changes.
  6.  In the Publish Site dialog, select Publish. The system does a thorough validation and publishes the site and certificate if one was selected.
