Configure an Origin
Per site host, you configure an origin. You can add the host origin when you Add a Host to the site, or you can add the host origin later. In either case, the subsequent configuration steps are the same. The steps for configuring a path origin are also the same.
To configure a host or path origin:
Navigate to the My Media Sites page and select the Media Delivery site.
On the Media Site Configuration tab, scroll down to the Hosts area and select a host.
To configure a host origin, scroll down to the Host Configuration area, and select Add Origin.
To configure a path origin, scroll down to the Path Rules area, expand the relevant path, and select Add Origin. (If needed, first add a path.)
Note: If an origin is already configured for the selected host or path, Edit Origin appears instead of Add Origin. Select Edit Origin instead and continue. In the Add Origin dialog, configure a Single Origin, an Origin with Failover, or a Round Robin List.
Notes about the UI
The buttons and tabs that appear at the top of the Host Configuration and Path Rules areas are dynamic and provide information about the selected host or path.
They may or may not be visible. The Rules, Origins, and ACL tabs all appear as soon as one rule, origin, or ACL is added.
Note the number in parentheses on the Origins tab:
The number on the Origins tab is (0) or the tabs are not visible:
If the tabs are not visible, or the number in parentheses on the Origin tab is (0), the Add Origin button appears.
The number on the Origins tab is (1), or greater than 1:
If the number on the Origins tab is (1), a Single Origin is configured. If the number is greater than 1, an Origin with Failover or a Round Robin List is configured.
To further configure the origin, or to change the origin configuration type, select Edit Origin.
Alternatively, on the Origins tab, select the Pencil icon.
