# Publish a Site

Use the Publish feature to push a Media Delivery site configuration version to the CDN.

The first time you publish a site, you also have to update your domain's DNS settings with the CNAME of the Site Delivery configuration to make your site go live. The CNAME is created automatically when you [create a new site](/v1/docs/create-a-media-delivery-site). (Alternatively, use HTTP routing.)

Subsequently, to update the processing parameters or any aspect of the Media Delivery site configuration, you create a new site configuration version with updated configuration parameters, and then save and publish it. For a site that is live, publishing a new configuration version automatically replaces the old configuration.

**Note:**A site is configured for a particular traffic type, to allow for optimization based on the unique characteristics of the traffic type. Currently, these optimizations are implemented by Qwilt. For best results, please contact your account manager or *support@qwilt.com* to optimize your site for the relevant traffic type.

1. Navigate to the **My Media Sites** page and select the site.
