Qwilt CDN supports implementing ad decisioning and stitching based on the preferences and logic of the content provider (CP). The Qwilt CDN can be configured to trigger requests towards an alternative origin, typically the stitcher. The stitcher then dynamically stitches the ads into the content stream. Triggers can be based on various client request patterns, such as query parameters, HTTP headers, paths, or request pattern matching.
Currently, Self Service customers can use request pattern matching to direct requests to an origin that integrates content with ads.
To do so, create a path that defines a particular request pattern and an alternative path origin:
- Create the path.
In the following example, the asterisk ( * ) represents any sequence.
- Configure the path origin (the alternative origin, typically the stitcher).
